Obituary for Queen Elizabeth Turner (Clark)

Queen Elizabeth Clark Turner, 83, of 226 Deaton Street, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 21, 2018, following an extended illness. She was born in Iredell County on February 1, 1935, and was the daughter of the late James and Ida Mae Connor Clark. She was married to Charles Otto Turner, who preceded her in death in 1996. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Suzette Turner; her siblings, Mamie Connor, Frances Connor, Henrietta Alexander, Cora Mayberry, Barbara Ann Clark, Thomas Clark, James Arthur Clark, Wesley Alfonzo Clark and Jerry Clark.

She attended Unity High School and Calvary Presbyterian Church.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, two sons, Charles Clark and Gary (Ann) Turner, both of Statesville; three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Peck, Frances (David) Turner and Deborah (Bernard) Heaggans, all of Statesville; one brother, William (Susie) Clark of Ohio; one sister, Dorothy Mintz of Statesille; six sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Martha Clark, Mary Frances Clark, Diane Holmes, Charlie Alexander, James (Lois) Turner and Georgia Turner; eleven grandchildren, Ronald (Sonia), Michael, Pamela, Lanae (Timothy), Joshua, Kim, Kisha, Kena, Sharon (Rick), Kevin (Latoya) and Derwin; great grandchildren, Diasha, Dashaune, Jacqueline, Jacolby, Tashombe, Nakylah, Syncere, Dazmine, R. J., Chasity (Brandon), Nikki, Tony, Ja’vion, and Khalil; great great grandchildren, Sanniah, Massiah, Jacolby Jr., Samaria, Jaquavia and Au’Bree; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church, USA. Rev. Timothy Bates will officiate and burial will follow in the New Center Presbyterian Church. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
