~Where do I begin. I remember when I was little Tre and I would go with you to games and it seemed as if everywhere we went some would tell us of how you impacted their lives. Former players you coached, students you had as either an AP at SHS. Principal at D. Matt Thompson, the first Principal at Statesville Middle or Principal at Troutman Middle they all respected you. And that’s why I wanted to be like you. I will never forget the lessons, the talks. You were the strongest man I have ever known. Your work here is done now. Your sons are men. Yes, we hurt but we have each other. V, Tre, and I will make sure mom is taken care of. With tears in my eyes. And a heavy heart I say. Rest now Daddy. I love you, Marlin Carter Tate, Jr The greatest father in the world!! #myhero

Love Your Son, Patrick
