Mr. Raymond (Ray) Summers, 74, of 1015 Absher Road, Statesville, departed this life on Monday, February 11, 2019, at Gordon Hospice and Pallitive Care, Statesville. He was born in Iredell County on July 16, 1944 and was the son of the late Clyde Summers and Louvenia Tuck. In addition to his late parents, Clyde Summers and Louvenia Tuck, he was preceded in death two brothers, Theadore Summers and Henry Summers; two sisters, Rosa Marie Bennett and Ola Mae Rankin; one nephew, Charles MacAuthur Summers.

Raymond attended Bethleham Holiness and Bethel Kingdom Life Ministries. He was a truck driver for a Moving Company, and loved singing, watching TV, fishing, dancing ,and most of all he loved his family. Raymond will truly be missed.
Survivors include one brother, Charles (Peggy) Summers of Statesville; five sisters, Carol Summers, Glyness Gary Morrison, Dieatta (Allen) Slaughter, Deborah (Wilford) Walls, Sylvia Holmes all of Statesville, and Katie (Archie) Brown of Roanoke, Virginia; one uncle Harold Summers of Roanoke, Virginia; one aunt, Ella Hall of Greensboro; three special cousins, Deborah Lyrely and Geraldine Theodore Winford both of Cleveland, N.C., and William Lyrely of Pinehurst, N.C.; caregivers, Keisha Harris, Tondra Rogers, and Carolyn Summers; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Raymond Summers will be conducted Saturday, February, 16, 2019, at 1:00 pm at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, Statesville. Bishop Wilford Walls will officiate. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery and dinner will be served at Bethlehem Holiness Church. Members of the family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm, but will assemble at 1015 Ahsher Road, Statesville, at all other times.
