Ms. Lori Ann Gaines, 56, of 921 Knox Avenue, Statesville, passed at her home on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, following an extended illness. She was born in Iredell County on March 9, 1963, and was the daughter of the late Edward and Joann Simpson Gaines.
She attended Morningside High School and was a loving mother and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, her fiancé, Jimmy Moore of the home; two sons, Jeff Dewayne Gaines of Statesville and Anthony Gaines of Yadkinville; an adopted daughter, Malaisa Simpson of Statesville; an adopted son, Kaleb Simpson of Statesville; her sister, Angelone Gaines of Statesville; grandchildren, Zamore Dwayne Gaines, Jalea Gaines and Hydia Gaines, all of Statesville; several nieces and nephews, Andrea Horne, David Gaines and Edward Gaines; other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday morning, April 20, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Turner will officiate and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
