Obituary of Lorene Moten Scott
Mrs. Lorene Moten Scott, daughter of the late Willie Roscoe and Janie Davidson Moten, was born in Iredell County on March 29, 1925. She departed this life on July 21, 2019, at Gordon Hospice House at 1:01 a.m.
Mrs. Scott attended school in Iredell County and was a faithful member of the Highland Acres Church of Christ until her illness. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Dixie Seating Chair Company for many years.
Lorene was married to Clark Harold Scott, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1971. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Jane Scott, and Phyllis Lucille Scott Blackwell, and two sons, Clark Levoy Scott and Melvin Blake Scott. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Lucille Hickman, Dorene Feimster, Pauline Jones, and Paul Moten.
Mrs. Scott leaves to cherish the memory of her life her sister, Emma Moten Feimster, and her children: Mickey Studevent ( Perry) of Advance, N.C., Coleen Withers, Ronnie Scott, Donnie Scott, and Eric Todd Scott ( Marlene), all of Statesville, N.C., two sister-in-laws, Annie Wade Anderson and Frances Bruner, and a host of grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and other relatives and friends.
The family also sends special gratitude to Dottie Carr, who was mom’s caretaker for 6 years, and treated mom like a queen. Thanks also goes to moms physican, Dr. Harlan Hicks, who cared for mom with the gentlest of hands and words.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Friday, July 26, 2019, at Highland Acres Church of Christ with burial in the Redland Church of Christ Cemetery in Advance.
