Mr. Freddie Louis Simpson, 69, of 8 Lake Spring Court, Greensboro, passed away at this residence on Monday, September 2, 2019, following an extended illness. He was born in Iredell County and was the son of the late of the late Lewis and Viola Jones Simpson. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Simpson and four sisters, Rachel Chambers, Patricia Hardin, Karen Foster and Winiferd Gail Simpson Redmon.

He was educated in the Iredell County School System and was formerly employed by the City of Greensboro as a Truck Driver.
Survivors include his daughter, Ernestine D. (Jonathan) Wooten of Greensboro; a grandson, Evan Davis of Greensboro; his brothers, James (Kathey) Simpson of Cleveland and Thomas (Brenda) Simpson of Statesville; two sisters, Valencia Simpson of Salisbury, and Sarah Warren of Statesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Friday, September 13, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Rev. Darren Warren will officiate. Members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of his sister, Sarah Warren, 136 Greylin Loop, Apartment 104, at other times.
