Calvin Edward Robertson, 63, of Statesville was born in Iredell County on December 7, 1955 and was the son of the late Rosa Lee Davidson Robertson and Jack Edward Wilkerson. He departed this life on Monday, September 16, 2019, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville following an extended illness.
He was a 1974 graduate of Statesville High School and also attended Mitchell Community College. He attended Faith Deliverance.
He was married for thirty-seven years to his devoted wife, Teverious Yvonne Starks Robertson, who survives. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Marie Nicholson Davidson Dalton, his mother-in-law, Mary W. Reid and a brother-in-law, Maurice Saddler.
In addition to his wife, Teverious Robertson of the home, he is survived by his daughters, Sheena (Eric) Robertson, Tara Starks and Enrika Starks (David) Moton, all of Statesville; his grandchildren, Tajayona (TJ) Harris of New York, Shakalya (Lemon) Robertson of Charlotte, DeAvion (Fatty) Foust and ShaNilya (Nana) Foust, both of Statesville; his mother-in-law, Clara Connor of Troutman; three brothers, Philip (Carrie) Robertson of Angleton, Texas, Hans Robertson of Statesville, and Sandy Robertson of Brooklyn; four sisters, Hazel Robertson and Leona Robertson (James) Davis, both of Winston-Salem, Mary Hall of Statesville and Marie (Charles) Hart of Mooresville; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Pearl) Saddler of Troutman and Doug Houpe of Statesville; four sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Saddler of Troutman, Stephanie Starks and Lisa Connor, both of Statesville and Brenda Eckles of Troutman; a special family friend, Harry Carruth of Troutman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Sunday, September 22, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Deliverance. Overseer Virginia Byers will officiate and Bishop Joe Byers will eulogize with burial to follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Mr. Robertson will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 1:00 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
