Mr. Boyce Eugene McClain, 67, of 401 Kings Grant Court, passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on Sunday, September 22, 2019, following an extended illness. He was born in Lincoln County on November 8, 1951, and was the son of the late Sir Walter McClain and Inez Gibbs McClain. He was married to Pansy Webb McClain, who survives.
He was a graduate of Statesville High School and Mitchell Community College. He served with the United States Army for 22 years and was honorably discharged. He was a member of First Baptist Church for many years, and later moved his membership in 1995, to Christ Cathedral of Deliverance where he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He was a Security Guard prior to his illness with the Iredell County Jail, Iredell Memorial Hospital, YMCA, and Wilson Security for over 21 yeas.
In addition to his wife, Pansy W. McClain of the home; he leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his son, Cintron McClain of Statesville; three step-children, Lori Turner of Mooresville and Rick Webb of Statesville and Judith McDermott; six grandchildren, Derrick Stewart of Mooresville, Gabriel Turner, Amber Turner, David Turner, Amir McDermott and Dimitri Turner, all of Mooresville; his siblings, Walter McClain and Nick (Nellie) McClain, both of Statesville; a sister in law, Cynthia Webb from Ontario, Canada; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Cathedral of Deliverance. Apostle Carl D. Lykes will officiate and burial will follow on Wednesday Morning, October 2, 2019, at The National Cemetery in Salisbury with Military Rites. Mr. McClain will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
