There's a name above all others,
Wonderful to hear, bringing hope and cheer.
It's the lovely name of Jesus,
Evermore the same, what a lovely name.

Mrs. Carrie Bell “Gig” Williams Ramsey, daughter of the late Clifford Williams and Eula Hayden Adams was born in Commerce, Georgia, on June 7, 1926. She went home to be with the Lord on November 3, 2019, at Gordon Hospice House following an extended illness. She was married to George Ramsey, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her step-father, James Adams; five sons, Freddie “Buddy” Williams, Willie “Paul” Williams, Rufus Ramsey, George “Ham” Ramsey and John Nathan Ramsey; one sister, Lucille Rucker; grandchildren, Lanisha Ikard, Allen Summers, Roderick “Roddy” Davis and Willie Williams, Jr; nephews, Richard Rucker and Robert Gordie; and a niece, Bernice Harris.

She attended the Iredell County Schools and was a lifelong member of Bethel Congregational Church where she formerly served on the Pastor’s Aid, Trustee Board and Usher Board. She was a member of the 55 and Alive Club.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, her children, Phillip (Carol) Ramsey of Winston Salem, Juanita Ramsey of Winston Salem, Francine (Wayne) Mauney of Statesville, and Ruth (William) Summers of Wilmington, Delaware; a daughter-in-law, Carol Williams of Statesville; her brother, Joe (Catherine) Nelson of Capital Heights, MD, a sister-in-law, Ruth Rankin of Salisbury; an aunt, Louise Adams of Youngstown, Ohio; a special great granddaughter and care giver, Tanea Porter; her grandchildren, Freddie (Kim) Little, Darren “D.C.” Gaither, Brittney Williams Tate, Cherie (Chris) Gillion, Avis (Sonny) Schofield, Tenna Williams, Ruta (Pastor Glenn) Usry, Paquana Williams, Terry Ramsey, Deforte “Little Mama” Tucker Porter, Charles Gillespie, Juanita Summers, Lesley Summers, Justin Ramsey, Nicole (Damon) Wade, Michelle (Johnny) Sigers and Phillip Summers; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, neighbors and friends.

Usry will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
