Mr. David Eugene Burke, affectionately called "DaeDae", was the son of the late William and Hazel Ann Bowman Burke, was born in Iredell County on June 27, 1959. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at his residence unexpectedly.
David was educated in the Iredell County Schools and worked in local industrial plants including Comscope most recently. He was a well known mechanic and could fix almost any vehicle. His free, loving nature was always on display, as he took every opportunity to dance, sing, and make others laugh. He will be missed deeply by his family, friends, and all those that knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William Burke, Jr. and Leon Rivers; a sister, Joyce Burke; both sets of grandparents, including Lace Bowman and Lizzie Turner and a niece, Wanda Bowman Culbreath.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his son, Timothy (Teresa) Bines of Statesville; three grandchildren, Antwon J. Bines, DeAndre M. Bines, and JaKasia Oliver Bines; three great grandchildren, Jeriah Aaron, Tova Whitner and Januah Maybell Whitner; six siblings, Barbara Bowman, Patsy Bowman, Alicia (Bishop Rayton), Rayford Burke, Willie (Jonsie) Burke, and Tony Burke, all of Statesville; special cousin, Willie Blackwell; special neighbor, Diana Everhardt; and The Under The Tree Crew of Medlin Street, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Celebration of life services will be will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019, 1:00 p.m., at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, Statesville, with Pastor Shawn Simpson, officiating.
